Today, Kawar Shipping is the leading shipping provider in Jordan, representing world leaders in maritime operations, including liners, tramps, bulk car carriers, classification societies and major P&I Clubs. Our services have further expanded to include protecting agents, ship brokerage, cargo survey and P&I correspondents.

Trade and business are on an upswing in the region as a whole, and this has encouraged us to expand KARGO, the forwarding arm of our shipping and transport services, into Iraq, Syria and Lebanon through international and local partnerships.

Over the years Kawar Shipping has developed international credibility among its partners and associates and took an active founding role in bodies like the Multi-port Ship Agencies Network and the Shipping Agents Association. The company is a long-standing and active broker member of the Denmark-based organization represents and promotes the needs of international shipping communities in over 100 countries.

Multi-port Ship Agencies Network (London)

As one of the founding members and the exclusive Jordanian constituent for the multi-port ship agents’ network established in 1978, represented in 108 countries covering 1500 ports worldwide, Amin Kawar & Sons Co. plays an active role in ensuring proper ship agency representation.

Shipping Agents Association— Jordan

The Kawar Group Chairman is one of the leading founders of the association comprising more than 50 members, acting as a strong voice for Jordan’s shipping interests.

International Air Transport Association (IATA)

The Kawar Group is also a member of IATA, which leads the air travel industry in setting standards, simplifying air travel for passengers, and promoting safety and environmental responsibility in the airline industry.

Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA)

FCCA represents 12 major cruise lines operating almost 100 vessels in Florida, Caribbean and Mexican waters. Kawar’s affiliation with FCCA highlights its intimate connection to operators like Royal Carribbean, Holland America, Princess, and Disney Cruise Line.

International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA)

Kawar is a member of FIATA, which represents nearly 40,000 forwarding and logistics companies in 150 countries, and is the largest non-governmental organization in the field of transportation with an important consultative role worldwide.

Amman World Trade Center (AWTC)

In 1990, the Kawar Group co-founded the Amman World Trade Center (AWTC) as a member of the World Trade Centers Association. AWTC provides a wide range of services to encourage and facilitate the conducting of business on a global scale.

International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)

The company is a member of the ICC-Jordan, and is actively involved in the commissions of maritime and surface cargo, air cargo, and air transportation in Paris. The Kawar Group Chairman is also a Board Member of ICC’s International Maritime Bureau of London, which represents the commission’s fight against maritime, commercial, and other acts of fraud.

American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA)

Kawar Travel and Tourism is part of ASTA, the largest association of travel agents in the world, providing the group access to the latest in resources for education, consumer and industry ethics and affairs, and awareness programs.

Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA)

JITOA was founded to promote the interests of local Jordanian travel agencies and tour operators working within the kingdom. Kawar is an active member of this organization that aims to promote professionalism and unify industry decision-making.
