Kawar- Agility (PWC) consortium has been awarded a 25 year contract to the contract by Aqaba development corporation to ADC to develop a 500,000 m² of urban land adjacent to the container port into “Aqaba Container Logistic Village” which shall include the development and operation of a logistic park, container freight station and a service center.
The new "Aqaba Container Logistic Village” valued at a USD 42 million will offer a full array of services to handle cargo receipt, break-bulk, assembling and disassembling, storage, distribution for imports and exports plus all documentation, including invoice generation and payment collections.
Regardless of origin, destination or carrier, the Container Village can provide a single, streamlined source to unload, store cargo, arrange for empty container storage space; offering numerous supplementary logistics services for logistics operators, shipping lines, overseas suppliers and direct importers/exporters, to name a few.
When offering the CFS operations, services and facilities, the Container village-- capitalizing on Kawar and Agility’s long professional experience and advanced technology-- aims to maximize the transit time options and minimize the freight handling costs by managing all aspects of the shipments, door-to-door, with ease, visibility and global reach. Development and construction are expected to start in April 2007 and Aqaba is looking forward to welcoming a new landmark that will largely contribute to Aqaba ’s growth as well as to Jordan’s overall economic growth.
